Commercial vehicle washing is one of the most underappreciated aspects of fleet operations. Done correctly, a proper truck wash chemicals program protects asset value, extends equipment life, maintains regulatory compliance, and projects a professional image to clients and the public.

1-Step vs. 2-Step Truck Washing

2-Step Washing (Industry Standard)

Two-step washing involves applying two separate chemical compounds in sequence:

Two-step is particularly effective on stainless steel tanks, aluminum trailers, and chrome-trimmed vehicles. The result is a cleaner vehicle in less time with less water and labor.

1-Step Washing

One-step uses a single neutral or mildly alkaline cleaner. It’s faster but less effective on heavily soiled vehicles. Appropriate for lightly soiled vehicles with frequent wash cycles.

Aluminum Brighteners

Aluminum brighteners are acidic products that restore shine and luster to bare aluminum surfaces — trailers, tank bodies, running boards, and wheels. Over time, aluminum oxidizes and develops a dull, chalky appearance. Brighteners reverse this chemically.

Degreasers for Fleet Vehicles

Heavy equipment, refuse trucks, and construction fleet vehicles carry soils standard wash products can’t address: hydraulic fluid, gear oil, heavy grease, asphalt. Industrial degreasers are formulated for these applications.
